In collaboration with German national football star and Real Madrid player Antonio Rüdiger, as well as Formula 1 veteran and standout talent Nico Hülkenberg, we created impactful campaigns for Netflix. The objective was to highlight Netflix’s Sports Slate, showcasing the platform’s diverse range of sports titles and promoting its wide variety of sports entertainment.
Through high-quality production and engaging, humorous content, we successfully generated significant buzz and outstanding engagement, delivering remarkable results.
Netflix boasts a wide selection of sports series, documentaries, and films that ignite the passion of sports fans worldwide. Together with Netflix and RSA, our mission was to highlight this incredible diversity. To achieve this, we tapped into our extensive portfolio of athletes, carefully selecting those who not only fit the campaign but are also true Netflix fans.
Additionally, the NFL brought live games to Netflix during the holiday season, adding another layer to the campaign. The challenge was to seamlessly combine these elements, crafting a cohesive narrative that showcased Netflix’s unparalleled sports offerings.
To showcase Netflix’s diverse sports programming, we strategically selected two exceptional athletes—Antonio Rüdiger and Nico Hülkenberg—who are not only top performers in their fields but also bring a strong sense of humor, a natural affinity for the brand, and a genuine connection to Netflix’s sports titles.
At Mative, our extensive network allows us to move fast and execute at the highest level. For this campaign, timing was key. We secured Nico Hülkenberg right at the end of his strong season with Haas, leveraging the momentum from his performance to maximize engagement. His Instagram audience was highly engaged, generating strong reach and interaction. Meanwhile, Antonio Rüdiger—an essential player for both Real Madrid and the German national team—was the perfect fit, bringing both star power and authenticity to the campaign.
We produced high-quality Instagram Reels featuring each athlete showcasing their favorite Netflix sports series. Nico Hülkenberg highlighted Quarterback, while Antonio Rüdiger chose Beckham, a title he has a personal connection to. Both videos seamlessly integrated their personalities with Netflix’s sports content, making the campaign feel natural and engaging.
As an extension of the campaign, we also promoted Netflix’s live NFL games in December, ensuring maximum visibility and reinforcing Netflix as the ultimate destination for sports fans.
